Exactly, that's what the switches are for on the front. I have TV / Amps / XBox running off House battery and can all be turned on without ignition. Or set so they still run off House battery but turn on and off with ignition. Along with Xbox & Amps there is also wireless adapter, Inverter for some 110 outlets & 12v outlets in the box, all wired the same way. They can be set to turn on independently or with ignition.

None of the internal amps are being used in the headunit, so current draw is not much at all, and that's the only item running off the starter batteries. But it doesn't actually need to be on. I keep meaning to run it through some diodes and relay so even the headunit is running off the house battery when the ignition is off and it is all turned on, but haven't got round to that yet.

Ram Mount makes mounts for motorcycle handlebars for GPS units and the like. They may also make something bigger. They are very strong and I think quick-detach.
