The front bumper is a Buckstop Outback model. I have one also. The '08+ version was developed with input from QuadVan. I couldn't be happier with mine. I used the built-in receiver for carrying an XL 650, or on autocross days, about 800 pounds of traffic cones.

I'm glad you finally got it done Steve. It looks great and I'm sure you agree with me that the Quadvan is a great drive on the road.

"Every single piece of this rig is awesome." From the looks of, I couldn't agree more. Can't wait to see more photos of your interior. Nice job Steve.

Re: Agonizing Wait Phase 3 Complete! The Finished Product.

To see the pictures of the rig in progress, go to http://smbprogress.widelocal.com.

I went with Quadvan for a few reasons. First, I liked the fact that the components were 100% unmodified Ford parts able to be obtained and repaired by any Ford dealer. This may be important in the future if we are broken down and far from home. Second, I saved a considerable amount of money by not having to pay California state sales tax on the conversion and all the off-road accessories. Third, what Ray said is very true about the smooth ride.

The front bumper is one of my favorite parts. I chose it over the Aluminess because it had a built-in receiver, built-in hooks, space for a winch and a front license plate at the same time and could hold four lights.

Now if I could only decide where to go first. The Central California Meetup appears to be fizzling out.

Wow, what a great vehicle! I looked at all the 'build' photos and really like the wood on the interior.

You can squeeze 4 more on there with some Unistrut pipe brackets:

Thanks for posting price. I wish this was a more open subject. Its not easy to keep humble and toss around big numbers but it's sure helpful when considering how to get started.

Its nothing short of a crime to tease us with so few photos. C'mon Man!!!! We cant wait too long

Every single piece of this rig is awesome. It is certainly an improvement over my Volkswagen Westafalia. Thanks to all who answered my many questions and I can't wait to get it out there.

Stunning build and pretty similar to my plans on the outside. Have you considered blacking out the massive chrome grill? Has anyone done that? I'm still mulling it over myself.

I ordered my van with the black grill and was given the chrome one by mistake. SMB North sent me a black grill no charge, and it took just a few minutes to do the replacement.
