Going back to Cali, Cali, Cali, going back to Cali...

...I don't think so!

A little LL Cool J there. Well we are going back to Cali, with the van to get the roof leak checked again. Peter is convinced that they will find and fix the leak even though SMB Texas' sub-contractors couldn't.

So, I also found out that the LineX/Rhino liner on the back part of the top was to cover cracked enamal, or at least that's what the PO got reimbursed for instead of driving to Fresno.

Myself- I'm driving to Fresno because I want it done right. Unfortunately my idea of done right is to take out the rotting dirty board and fix any problems internally- especially cleaning up any mold or mildew; however, since it is a used SMB, SMB only covers stopping the leak. Stopping the leak does not include disassembally of the top to determine where the leak acutally is, or what damage has been done, so I will need to pay them to have it done "right".

On top of paying for gas to Fresno and having already driven to Texas, and all the dealership issues, this is getting kind of old. It's like I have to do this one 3 day 1500 mile thing and then maybe I can have my van without considering the next time it will be in a shop. It's like the last nine yards but I'm exhausted and spent. Arrrghhh!

At least you won't have to worry about rain getting into your top while in California. It hasn't rained for months, and it probably won't rain until October/November.

Good luck with the repairs.

Jage,

When are you thinking about coming through CA, and what route (I-10, I-210, I-5?)? Let us know and some of us might be able to meet and chat at a rest area or something.

The only fixed part is taking I-8 out of Arizona and being in Fresno on the 20th of this month.

If anyone wants to meet and maybe camp together Friday and/or Saturday I'd be game as long as it doesn't put me too far from Fresno come Sunday Morning. Right now it's just a long drive I've got to make and there is no reason to take Friday off...
