New Sprinter hood protection

Hi All,


I have a new Sprinter RB low roof going through SMB North, and anticipate picking it up in 6-7 weeks.



I have seen Sprinters with a black hood; is this a coating or 3M protective film to guard against stones?


Likewise, I also see a lot ov van images with the lower panel, below the factory molding; again is this a coating or 3M product?

The hood is typically a wrap, the lower rocker panel is typically LineX or Raptor Liner - spray on coatings.

Shoot it with Plastidip. $4 fix. Easily re-doable in a year or two when it starts to look bad. The same thing will happen with 3m coatings but it will cost a lot more to do and re-do.

Raptor/LineX are also good and more expensive and time consuming options which take a helluva lot more commitment.

Plastidip 100% reversible.....in about 5 minutes.

As far as I can tell, these black hoods are just an item for show. I would not bother.
