It's very easy to disconnect- six quick release straps per unit. Off or on in less than 5 minutes. Our setup seen in the pics was ~$800- kinda steep but the organization possibilities are well worth it to us.

Hmmm..... I guess I always thought you paid tax in the state the vehicle gets registered in, not the one you purchase it in. Am I wrong? What is the sales tax rate on vehicles in CA and is it different for RV's than cars or trucks?

If I remember correctly, we paid around $10,000 (around 10% I think) in state taxes when we took delivery of our former 2008 SMB 4x4.

Hence the reason I am asking. In NM sales tax on vehicles is 3%. Guess I'd better find out if the rate is different for RV's.

Re: Our new SMB is getting close!!

We saved ~$3k by taking possession of our SMB in Vegas and registering it in Missouri btw. Cali sales tax is a killer!

Re: Our new SMB is getting close!!

Reviving an old thread here....
What rim and tire setup is on this rig. I know they are 18" rims and Toyo tires but exact specs would be great.

Thanks

Yeah California gets you, even if you are an out of state resident. I had my van shipped to Oregon from LA, because that was much cheaper than the sales tax I would have paid if I picked it up.

Many state do charge sales tax when you register a new vehicle. Oregon doesn't have sales tax, so shipping the van was a no brainer.

When my brother bought his motorhome from a San Diego area dealer, the dealer drove it to the Nevada state line, and they transferred ownership there.
