Penthouse Top : Corrugated vs Smooth
There are a number of threads and posts here that talk about the Penthouse top and talk about it (and in some cases show it) as being of a corrugated-like design with high and low spots.
Our PHT is smooth and flat, with no ridges and valleys.
Anyone else have a PHT like this?
Why the difference?

I don't know much about these tops but my guess is that the one's with the ridges/valleys would be stronger.

My thinking too, and thus the question.... why would they not all be that way?
Who has a non-ridged PHT ? (besides me???)
AND what are the application for each type?

The top on our new SMB from Huntington is smooth. Perhaps not all locations are using the corrugated one?

Our build was in TX, and I am pretty certain that I remember seeing the corrugated PHTs as well.
It just seems like there is more to this than I currently undertand.
We have an EB Ford. Could this be an EB vs RB thing?

My 04 EB was built in Huntington and has corrugations.
Maybe they are changing over to smooth ones and have to use some old stock?

Mike,
Maybe that is it. Having it smooth does eliminate the issue of a washer not seating flat to the roof due to the corrugations.
....but we are still speculating.... anyone have the real answers?

Maybe we have to ask SMB to get the answer?

Dick,
Was your 2006 built originally with this PHT? or was it a recent addition?
