Sportsmobile Texas

I visited Sportsmobile Texas in Austin back in November 2005 when we were scoping out our future SMB, and found them to be very helpful. Almost switched to ordering a Sprinter, since I really was impressed with their Sprinter models there.

My only mistake was to think that that visit was enough to spec out a 4X4 SMB, and I really should have gone to Fresno and thoroughly gone over options. For example, I found it very easy to open and close a penthouse roof in Austin, but it was on an RB model without anything on the roof. With our EB model plus solar panels, it is more difficult to get it up and down, and Mrs. Ed in Montana has a lot of trouble with it. Should have ordered the electric PH, but live and learn.

I can only comment on the customer service side of SMB-Indiana. I've been emailing Nancy back and forth for weeks now, asking tons of questions, and finally (just last week) sending her my first design idea. She has been very knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and professional the entire time. I even got a samples package sent to my house from them.

I'm still in the design phase for my SMB, but I'll be using SMB-Indiana as my "base" facility since they're the closest (geographically) to me. If Nancy is any indication of the employee standards at that facility, I will have no hesitations in using them to build my SMB.

I'm confident that each facility maintains a certain level of standards, since they all produce the same product label. I'm also sure that each facility probably has a niche in some way (like SMB-California doing 4x4), but in the end, their finished products still have to meet certain standards of craftsmanship, quality, etc.
