Transit build - 4 weeks out. Austin. Pics.

4-6 weeks from pick-up day. Got these pics from Brian at SM Austin yesterday. Very excited. BUT NEED SIMPLE BLACK STEEL WHEELS. Any suggestions?

Lookin' good. If you want black steel wheels I would recommend just painting the factory ones. They actually look pretty good blacked out IMO with the OEM centers on them. Are you meaning an aftermarket black wheel with a little more style? I went with 16" Ultra Toils. Many have been going for a certain Method wheel but I'm not sure of the actual name. Explain more what you're after. Lots of wheel/tire threads on the Transit USA forum as well.

Thanks!! Scotty, funny that after my post I also ordered the black Ultra Toil 450s. Curious, what tires do you have on them, and would you recommend? Looking for something fairly aggressive as we will be getting deep in the woods, and also I like the more rugged look. Pics? Also, did you lift?

Dave, sorry but I just saw this. I'm running BFG KO2's 245/75-16s. If I did it again I'd get the 17" Toils with the same tires. I am not lifted and the fit is tight but no rubbing.

Dave, are the Toil 450s a 16" dia? What is the width?

Scotty, I ordered a factory 3.73LS diff. What is the effect of going with the different tire size, from OEM?

Nothing, I have swapped from 3:31 open diff to 3:73 LSD myself. It's a magic combination. No one has a fix for the speedo and convenience display (range, mpg, all that stuff) because vehicle reads it from the ABS module instead of the ECU or some such modern car nonsense. You'll have to deal with a speedo that's off and hand calculate your mileage. Everyone is upsizing the tires on their Transit though so everyone is dealing with it.
With 245/75-16"s my speedo is off right at 7mph at freeway speed. I've gotten used to it.

Thx Scotty, is there any negative effects on shifting, with the 245/75-16"s? My van is at Quigley. What is your wheel width, for those tires? Are you concerned about factory warranty issues with the nonStock tires?
