One interesting new standard feature for 2021 is an electronic parking brake. This changes back to the old manual brake at GVWR of #9500 or so. Makes a better path to the rear between the seats.
You also lose certain features as you meet or exceed #10,000 GVWR. Things like side curtain air bags, CHMSL, I think rear view camera. Certain things that are not mandated over that weight. You may also run into driving license or endorsement problems in certain states.

Our 2019 350 SMB weighs in at 8700 lbs (3900 front, 4800 rear) with two adults, full tank of gas, full water tank (23 g.) and fully loaded for travel; food, clothes, tools, etc.

This was a pretty standard SMB Fresno (when it was still SMB) build. It's quite comfortable for two people and we routinely boon-dock for two or three days before we have to source water. We could do four or five days but we both take a hot shower daily. Yup, I know, we are not really camping.
-Front facing couch across the back that folds down for a bed with a 23 G H2O tank, 2800 watt Magnum inverter and a sub-woofer mounted underneath the couch
-Two ottomans for storing crap and completing the bed
-Stowable table
-AGM 4D battery in the spare tire well
-Two overhead cabinets on each side in the rear, mounted high
-The SMB Extreme Weather Insulation package (I added more myself)
-Espar/Rixen Hydronic D5 gas heater with flat plate
-Shower/toilet room
-Kitchen area with sink, two drawers, two cabinets, granite counters
-Isotherm Cruise 100 liter/3.5 cf refrigerator/freezer
-Another granite counter-top above fridge
-Microwave oven
-Two 115 watt Zamp solar panels
-Maxxair Maxxfan Plus
-Roof mounted Dometic AC unit
-Fiamma 10' side mounted awning
-Aluminess front bumper (no winch, gotta wait until the wife ain't lookin)
-Aluminess rear bumper with spare tire and the small box
-And it's got the Quigley 4x4 conversion
See pics...

Whoa. Sweet van. I've not seen that color in a Transit. What color is that?

That be White Gold. It was the closest color to dirt that Ford offered.

Thanks to all who replied on this!! After much discussion, we changed our order to the 10,360 GVWR version . . . and the order has been placed, so it's probably a bit late to change our minds now! :-))
