What is the best tire size with 6" lift ?

Well! I live in Denver and my plan is to use the e150 just to go to the mountains to do snowboard. So pretty much I'll stay on the highway dealing with the snow and ice! I think the most extrem off-road that I could do, it will be the mud and snow of the parking lots! haha

I don't know anything about the technical stuff of tires. I just know that when I lifted my van 4 1/2" my original tires looked too thin. I got wider tires and the van looked beefier. I think the narrow military tires will make your van look like it's wearing stiletto high heels.

I knew you were going to ask that. My after tires are 285/75R16 Falken Rocky Mountain ATS. I can't remember my before tires, but I think they were 245/16.

There is a reason bias ply tires are rare, or used in specialty applications. If you really want to learn read this:

http://www.michelinag.com/Innovating/Ra ... technology

But the short answer is lift your van, go to Discount tire and buy the biggest E rated mud tires that fit. They'll be radials for what it's worth.

I am not a betting man but, I bet your van WILL roll if you use those tires with a lift kit.

Re: What is the best tire size with 6

Might depend on the lift. We have a few vans at work with a 4" lift and have never had a problem with tires skinner than those. But they don't have a tops either, are full of electronic equipment and are E-250's. Don't know if the suspension has been beefed up but the stock 2WD E-150 wallow in a turn while the 4x4's seem fine in a hard corner turn.

Re: What is the best tire size with 6

This doesn't really refer to vans but is a good look at off roading with Bias tires.

I'd never had them as the vans wallow enough in a turn. I had bias tires on my bass boat and I could get it to drift. Radials were a huge difference. But I do know off roading folks using bias tires
