Re: Who will be the 2009 Ford SMB Delivered ?

I'm like the new dash layout.

I am just waiting to see one of the fine folks on the forum to install the new dash on the older model and I'll follow in their footsteps

What I didn't count on were the updated door panels as well. We are using a bunch of custom materials in the build, including high definition metallic laminate and aluminum trim to give it a more industrial feel that works with the new interior up front. Should be cool.

Re: Who will be the first 2009 Ford SMB Delivered ?

KC,

I went by and checked out your ride this week. Lookin' good.

Are you picking up today? In the storms? Watch out for Hail !!
As soon as I drove up to SMBTX in a hail-dinged Insight Paul was asking if the van had seen our recent hail storm. It had not.

Your van looks sharp. Very unique interior finish.

This was the first 2009 I have seen in person. I like the door panels and storage they have. The glovebox would be nice. There also are a couple of other open storage spots it looks like.

The guages are updated and look nice too.

The middle of the dash has a different layout and the 12v outlets seem to be well located.

Did you have any options for the upgraded dash electronics? Not sure if they would be available on the RV versions.

Your van does look nice. AND I really like your tires!

(have a couple of questions I will ask offline)

Drive Safe.

Re: Who will be the first 2009 Ford SMB Delivered ?

Got it! What a trip... Driving that thing (for the first time) doing 70-80 in the rain (I won't disclose how fast I actually got it up to when testing the stability.... but it didn't end up on it's side). I was very concerned about stability during the build. At extremely high speeds it begins to oscillate, but far beyond where you should be driving it. I'm pleased. It's going in for A/V this week, then I will shoot some pictures and put the whole build process up. I have pictures from stock to completion. Send me your questions in PM.
