A new use for non-CARB compliant jerry cans

While on vacation today in Aix-en-Provence, France, I ran across these:

No, I can't bring any back with me, but I am here for two more days and will try to get more information about them if possible.

Au revoir,
Steve in L.A. (in France)

Oh the humanity. Taking PERFECTLY good fuel cans and destroying them, especially when the new versions suck so badly. It is ingenious however.

Good thing I still have two brand new Wedco cans with spouts squirreled away.

Good idea for a trash can if you don't need to haul fuel.

I did this when I was building VW Syncros. Kept my recovery/emergency equipment in there. Worked pretty well.

Re: A new use for non-CARB compliant jerry cans

I posted some images of my past projects in my gallery. I used to do it all: 2.5TDI engines, suspension, brakes, custom interior work, gauges, aux fuel tanks etc.. All told I built five very custom Syncros. The engines were Euro spec NOS 2.5TDI five cylinder Audi A6 engines with about 215 lb/ft of torque--although one of my guys chipped his to around 300!

Trying to do something similar with Fords.

Thanks for the interest
Tom
