I use my awning a lot in the driveway because it keeps the van nice and cool while I’m inside working on it. Since I just reinstalled my Thule Hideaway Awning after getting the poptop, this was my first time using it in its new location on the gutter mounts. What I didn’t realize was that now my ladder would prevent me from getting the awning winder inserted at the right angle, a necessity for the Thule because, otherwise, you can’t remove it. So, of course, the darn thing got completely stuck. After messing with it for a good 45 minutes, I finally took an angle grinder to it. Since the winder was destroyed anyway, I took it apart and removed the T piece. What do ya know but it fits perfectly into a 9/16 nut driver. Now I can set up my awning in less than a minute.
Could be JWA, so I take it pretty slow. I got the idea watching a video of a Thule rep giving a demo, so I figured if he was willing to do that a few thousand times to his demo awning, mine might be okay.
