... as opposed to one for smartphones.
For those of you that use Macs, check out out Ultimate Public Campground Project, in the Mac App Store. I'd been using a subset, the one for USFS and BLM campgrounds. It's basically the same as the iOS version but you can use it on a desktop or laptop Mac, and it uses the Apple Maps application that came with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Really nice layout, and my fav, as I mentioned before, is the inclusion of elevation. You also get a link to weather, directions, and the web pages for the campgrounds themselves. The USFS BLM version just does those campgrounds, the Ultimate one does all the public campgrounds, including military, county, and even boondocking sites. Well worth it, even if you're just browsing at home and planning a trip. Google and Bing searches too often give me sites that I have no interest in; this allows you to focus on the places you'll actually stay.
And updates come furious and fast (see the thread on the campground app here for more info), viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11995
