Check with Ujoint they were making front Bumpers with the Hitch receiver.

Hitch on aluminess

I put a hitch on my aluminess bumper. Got the hitch from Etrailer and had to file just a little bit to make it fit. If I'd gone with a longer receiver it wouldn't have been an issue. I believe the tongue weight is 150 on this.

I have a U-joint front bumper with their optional front hitch. Their front hitch bolts up to their bumper tight and tidy. I love the bumper features/look and would buy it again for sure but unless you need or just want their bumper it would be a hellaciously expensive way to get the hitch accomplished.

Question: I have a front receiver hitch that I had on my previous 1998 E250. Before I dig it out of the shed and lay under the van to see if it fits, does anyone know if it will also work on my 2011 E250 with the new-style front end and OEM bumper? Thanks!

Front End Tow Hitch

I’ll answer my own question: front hitch from my 98 E250 does fit my 2012 E250, kinda. Bolt holes line up in the frame (have to enlarge two). You need to remove the plastic front splash guard and can’t reinstall it as the hitch occupies the same space. The plastic bottom of the front bumper does interfere with the receiver, but can be pushed up enough that you can get a drawbar in (you could also permanently notch the plastic to make room). The biggest issue I’m having is that the hitch sits too far back now since the 2008+ front end is longer, so I’ll need to get a hitch extended. Not sure if newer style hitches account for the longer front end or not. Click image for larger version

I've got the Aluminess front bumper with their front receiver I added afterwards. Works great!
