I think the few I've seen here have been custom jobs. I'd potentially be interested too, though. My Westy had one and it was handy now and then.

@stiggs - Might consider reaching out to member Marret. He has one on the front, and he may also be able to direct you to a thread that was active a year or so ago - included quite a long discussion (and suggestions) on the same topic.

You call @Twoxentrix?

The thread is linked below. Mine is the one linked in my post, and below, cut to fit and mounted on Thule gutter mounts.

That thread got me thinking about adapting hitch carrier baskets. The Harbor Freight #69858 "ATV cargo carrier" seems like it might be a good size if I discarded the hitch mount and bolted the two halves directly together. I'd still need a way to mount to the rain gutters, though.

Hmmm, that’s an interesting idea! I have an aluminum HF cargo carrier in the shed and some old Yakima 1A raingutter towers too. Would be pretty easy to cobble together.

Most gutter-mount rack systems are pretty expensive -- often a couple hundred bucks just for the mounts, and the vans require extra-long crossbars. The cheapest DIY option I found is this:
https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store..._Mounts.html#/
$60 for a set of four. They're designed for a Jeep XJ but I suspect the rain gutter profile is not that different.
After some quick measurements I think the HF #66983 "500 lb. Steel Cargo Carrier" is going to be a better fit than the ATV carrier. The van roof is wider than I'd have thought. I'm going to hold off on ordering any kind of basket until I've mocked up the gutter mounts, though. The cargo carrier is massive overkill strength-wise but I haven't found a cheaper cargo basket yet. HF does sell a 150 pound capacity rooftop basket type carrier, but it's very narrow (36 inches) and I'd prefer to get closer to the full width of the roof.

I can make you one your local. Or you can make one yourself. Get the gutter mounts. go to home depot and buy the sort wrought iron gate they have. I think they have a 48" and a 60" tall and they have 2 widths. Obviously get the narrower one. You can also go to a metal fab shop and they can make you one. The home depot would be a good start.

Ah, interesting idea. I'll have to take a look at what Home Depot has.
