Re: Interior Fans?

The 807 Sirraco is a Gimble mounted fan with a very low amp draw on all three settings and also incorporates a timer feature . I have had them in two of our boats and found them to be quite sufficient I actually never thought about using one in the SportsMobile . You should be able to find lower pricing than what is available though West Marine ! You might try Defender Marine or Downwind marine . I am am going to see if room will permit for a clean install in our Van , thanks for the reminder .

Not so big of a deal in an established campground, but if stealth camping or staying in a remote NFS or BLM campsite I kinda like to have an ear to the ground, so to speak.
i consider it pretty quiet on any of the 3 settings. it makes noise but it wont interrupt sleep. im a light sleeper. the sound is somewhat soothing to me. i do not hear anything outside the van below normal speech. i boondock in suburbia and i can hear when my hosts come and go in their vehicles (car door/trunk closes) but unless they are yelling at their kids that pretty much it. one saturday i was surprised to learn that my friend was working on his boat right next to where i park and i had no idea lol.

so i suppose its a mixed bag. its loud enough to drown out some low level sounds outside but not too loud to disturb sleep or annoy. it took some getting used to not being able to hear much of what is going on outside so i can certainly see what you mean by drycamping somewhere. im in a safe place so i sleep well.

i should note that my van interior is covered with sound deadener everywhere except the doors, in addition to the usual insulation etc.

Re: Interior Fans?

Just picked up the same fan ToolMan did for testing this week. So far it works great. As he mentioned low amp draw and fairly quiet. There is some vibration on the med and even more on the higher setting. Going to take the blade off and balance it to see if it will go away.

Probably half as much air flow as the 110 small Vornado I have had in there for a year but much less power draw.

Re: Interior Fans?

Long Term Review of the Caframo Fan....

Since I have had this fan it's been on in my van 24/hrs a day. I've dropped, knocked it over and hit it with everything we have in the van and it keeps on working.

Mounted it to a pole clamp and it get's moved around the van daily.

Highly recommend it.
