Mounting bracket for Propane Quick Disconnect?

Any cool tips on routing/securing propane hose for an outdoor grill? How do you secure the quick-disconnect fitting to the van, or do you just have the hose dangling? I've tried to find a decent mounting panel similar to what tri-fuel generator builders use (pic attached) but no luck. Would be great to firmly mount into a weather-tight access box instead of just the loose hose.

Thanks in advance -

Peter

If I'm understanding you just fab up a bracket out of thin metal/strapping. Most travel trailers have one of these hanging underneath. Pretty easy to look under a few at any RV dealer and get some ideas.

I was hoping for a slightly more elegant solution that could be bulkhead/wall mounted. Seemed like the type of niche bracket that someone would be selling.

Thanks -

Maybe this would help? I was thinking of adding one to my van, too. https://www.adventurousway.com/blog/...-quick-connect

We have an external propane fitting on our 2019 Transit SMB West. Our tank is installed beneath the van where the spare tire usually resides. The line from the tank goes to a T-connector that delivers propane to the external fitting or to the propane appliances in the van (propane stove, Truma Combi heater/hot water). The external quick connect is on the passenger side attached to the chassis in front of the rear tire. I bought my external quick connect hose and fitting from MB Sturgis, Inc. Their staff was very helpful insuring that I had the correct connectors to my camp stove and to the van. Here are some pictures to explain the setup. From underneath, looking up at the tank, the T-connector is on the passenger side. Hose brackets are used to stabilize the line where it attaches to the van body.

I see. I have never seen one quite like what I think you are meaning. I prefer stealth and not putting any holes in anything I don't have to, which is what most of the typical RV mounts accomplish. They are mostly hidden underneath. Sounds like CharliesMom might have found a place with some good solutions for you.

I can say that careful placement is paramount wherever you mount something like this on an SMB. I hid a propane quick connect under my first van and it was always exposed to road silt and mud when off pavement. Even with a cap on it it was kind of a pain.

Update - I attached the disconnect fitting to a 5-inch NPT brass nipple, then used U-Clamps (1/2" wire-rope clamps with one leg cut-down to reduce holes' drilled) to attach to the skid-plate for underbody propane tank.
