We were in Death Valley the other day on our way to Baja and used the shower. I usually just go barefoot or use flip flops, but the ground was kind of dirty so I used my floor mats. As I've mentioned in another post, I just got the Weathertec mats and I yanked 'em out, turned 'em upside down and had a great shower mat. Only downside was that I had to use a little water to rinse 'em off.

it amazes me that so many choose stupid....
Our '08 E-50 is on order. We have used a Sun-Shower for many years car-camping and use the lid from a RubberMaid storage bin to place the shower on while it warms up and then use the same lid to stand on while we shower. Air dries in 15 minutes and resumes its life as a lid.
You can get the mat like they use on resturant floors in the kitchen. They come in different sizes very soft on the feet & leggs and clean up great and store any where. They also come in different colors you can get them at any rest. supply house.
One of those rubber mats that are made from recycled tires would work nice. A locale guy makes them and sells them for like 20$. I'll try and find a pic.

I was faced with the same dilemma about a year ago. I was online looking at teak floor mats for big dollars. Couple days later I'm in my garage and saw a couple pieces of 2x4 laying there. Cut, bang, drill, sew, slap, cuss, cut, drill again and here is what I ended up with. made it small enough to fit inside the hole by the sliding door, but just big enough to use. If made with some nicer wood and black cord these would be just like store bought. So far I'm happy with my 2x4 doug fir models for keeping my feets out of the mud.
