For Wilson, the roof rack is set up for firewood/water on either side of A/C
the rear cargo is set up to hold the inflatible kayak
kinda rules out the tub, which i like by the way!
the Pit 2 Go will fit I THINK in the XL storage
it has room, have to ck on opening dimensions

Yep, I just looked at your sweet rig. It would present a storage issue where as a folding pit would not.

Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates??
WOW
i really like the Snow peak
however
locally i use "grocery store" bundles
they would have to be cut to fit in
my current usage:
pack the rig
stop at Grocery store on way out of town
wife pack fridge
i throw the plastic wrapped firewood up top and check Wilson for the road
snow peak also would be a little easier to brush down the sides of ash
and Dump in Daves Ammo can

I have the Pit 2 Go and love it.
Fits in the underfloor storage, sets up relatively quickly, kicks off lots of heat, relatively easy cleanup, and best of all you can use it as a grill. I carry firewood and charcoal so I often start by grilling some burgers, then drop the embers down into the bottom before adding firewood.
(Not my fire ring.)

Anyone tried the woodburning version of Campfire in a Can? Seems small and light enough.

Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates??
They are one of the heavier duty Tubs and work great if you have a way to transport it easily .
We carried ours in a large well made canvas bag for years and loved it's Vortex driven flames on a breezy cold evening .I built a stand for it that made it even more proficient , we no longer use it because of the lack of transport space but my youngest son still uses it several times a year . I have never used anything that allow's a fire to burn with so much intensity .

Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates?
http://www.volcano2.com/
I just saw this for $99 at Costco today in Chula Vista on a road show until 12/13 if anyone is interested. I did not buy yet as I wanted to bit of research as I had not seen before. Looks like it might be good as a small fire pit for boondocking and have as a spare stove. 22k BTU burner seems excessive, but what the hey. Also, seems a bit pricey for what it is but it fits a few bills, so I think I'll buy given Costco's returns policy. Also, looks like it stows really nicely in the bag and collapses to 5" tall.
Anyone else have any experience? If so, used as a fire pit? Their web site claims 70k sold.
