It would be worth it if it works. What does it use, bluetooth? Wifi? Will it interfere with all the other devices, signals and gadgets in use in my van?

Not being negative. It looks pretty damn amazing.

I think so, too. It's a Bluetooth connection to a phone or tablet app. Brain dead installation, HD feed, collision sensors, solar charger. Based on a long chat session about features and issues, the company is very open about their product. That included questions about interference. The company says no conflict as the only connection the device maintains is to the phone/tablet.

The camera communicates with a radio module attached to the vehicle's data port. That module talks to the phone. If can be removed when the vehicle is serviced and plugged back in with no lack of connectivity. Or, moved with the camera to a different vehicle where it will connect to the same phone as if nothing has changed.

Got themselves written up positively in the NY Times a while back. Founded and run by Apple refugees (flame wars start here), unfortunately priced correspondingly.

Could be nice for hooking up a trailer.

Looks like this requires using the OBDII port on your vehicle. Wouldn't want to lose my Scan Gauge functions. If it works without that, I might be interested. I would mount it on the plate holder for my bicycle box.

Aha Steve, someone has thought of that! I got one of these awhile back to run Torque on and Android tablet while simultaniously running my Scangauge but I haven't rigged it up yet. Anyway, apparently they work and are a cheap solution for multiple OBDII toys.

Ah, I didn't catch that. That must be how it senses when you shift into reverse and it then activates the camera. I was expecting a less elegant solution like tying the camera power into the back-up lights.

I don't like the idea of "losing" my OBDII connector either.
