Reflective Tape for Wilson

Just bought some high visability stickers
why??
1) already been hit a couple of times parked
2) hedging my bets at night

any good reasons NOT to ( other than they are a bit Non-Macho?)

FYI
i will be going to the local CHP (calif highway patrol) and have them check out
compliance with stickers and lights

I don't want to light up any more than I do, when camping out in the boonies or places that are questionable. I know, I know, as if a big white van is incognito to begin with. Just my $0.02.

All tail and corner lights are required to be reflective... so you're already pretty much a beacon to anyone with a light.

Personally I'd cut each of the red/white ones in half an give the red ones to some kids to play with... that way you're highly reflective at night but they kind of blend during the day. Of course being dark green I would have to find something that was clear and reflective to blend in during the day.

It also raises the question if anything short of a road sign trailer with a giant blinking arrow will keep Wilson from getting hit...

per the safety guy, the red/white combo is called "Conspicuity Safety Tape"
the red and white break up the human eye's something causing more visability

i am pretty much down for the day time deal to put on Wilsons Big Ass Generator box

i kind of like the "corners also"

dont plan much night driving but it would allow me to rack up some miles
while Mrs. Wilson and Cooper get thier beauty rest

i dont plan on being somewhere that a redneck bouncing around in a 4x4, giant light bar, alchohol and guns would see me in the distance ... (remember the scene from Croc Dundee?)

the plan is:
corners upper rear, maybe upper on the bow also
a mild stripe of daytime green and nighttime red/white on the baja box

no plan for running on the sides like the pic of the trailer


anyother thoughts Folks??

Bill, where did you get the reflector tape (I take it it is tape)? I have been looking for the same stuff around town, but have not found any locally.

Should have had reflective tape on the post; it's 5:30am here in the frozen north.
