Saw to keep limbs off of your van.
I carry a small pruning saw to take care of limbs in the trail but for overhead tall limbs the wife was too short to reach them. I simply drilled an extra hole in the handle and screewed a piece of an old broom handle too it and now the wife can scurry along in front of the van and catch the tall limbs befor they hit the van. I do luv that woman and even more since she can reach the tall branches!

I think we carry the same pruning saw..... we also carry a small nipper that is gear driven for some mechanical advantage...

That has been a great saw! It eats thru logs with ease. It has stayed sharp for a long time.

Re: Saw to keep limbs off of your van.
I have something similar sans handle. good idea suumpalump!
Anyone carry a cordless (or corded) sawzall? I was thinking of carrying one with me. I own a corded one but didn't want to suck down my house battery and was thinking of springing for a cordless model. any thoughts?

Hey Steve,
How about a pneumatic sawzall? Just bring an airtank or use on-board Air. Like this one;
