No wonder they're so hard to find. I need the older model and thought they were all the same...bummer.

I have one for the older model E series sitting in the garage because i converted my front clip to the newer style.
Do you think there would be a market if i took it and my other hood to the local canvas shop and had them produce something similar?

I got mine from sportsmobile but i dont see any on their site anymore. Has anyone tried calling them?

Just picked up the last 2002 from Field Vans. I shot them an email and they'd just had one returned. Had the Missus jump on it for a nice Fathers Day gift.

I'd say there's a bit of interest in these. As difficult as it was for me to find one I feel like I got a deal at $200. If you had a few made and make them available I feel like you wouldn't be holding onto them for long.

I think i will will stop over at the shop Monday and take them my bra to get a rough estimate of what a prototype might cost. Then i will decide if its even worth messing with. Theres maybe a couple of people here on this post that might be interested, I dont see alot of real interest that would make it a worthwhile venture but at the same time this is just one website.

If the prototype isnt overly expensive i will have them make me one and if it turns out ok i can post pictures to guage interest at that point. It is kind of a consumable product in that they dont last forever due to the UV rays beating down on them and the weather, plastic quick buckles breaking, etc...
But you just dont see alot of people trying to locate them, at least not on the forums.

Supply & Demand make people do funny things...I would suspect more people would tag you with an order if they realized these are no longer available, and you (at this time) are the only possible supplier. With that in mind, those with interest & those with 'aging' hood bras may be motivated to take advantage of this opportunity.

I have an aging 2003 E350 with 300,000 miles. Hood chips are a validation of the 300K.
Little late for me. To be honest I have never been a fan of bras.

Just a quick word of warning on sporting these hood bras. My 2001 has a slight, but definite outline of where the bra sits. It looks like the paint has been slightly oxidized under the bra maybe due to either having it on while wet or because the increased heat in direct sunlight? When I purchased my van a few years ago, this blemish was pre-existing and it looked like the damage had been done with limited use of the bra by the previous owner. My reasoning for concluding the previous owner had only used the bra sparingly is that he included it with the sale and it looks almost new. See included picture of the bra in action last week near Lakeview, OR.

If I had a defect free hood, I personally wouldn't put one of these on it... However, I do like the look and think it goes good with the Baja Tan
