Re: Tent / Awning Stakes

Those are the same ones I bought back in April or so. Always meant to post the info, but don't think I ever did.

The pictures don't do them justice. They must weigh about one pound each, made out of solid steel. All kinds of lengths available, and all sorts of colors too.

From their FAQs
--------------------------

How much does your tent stakes weigh?
12" = 1.375 lbs.
18" = 1.625 lbs.
24" = 2.200 lbs.

--------------------------

Oh, also made in the USA from USA steel.

If you are inclined to spend a we bit more for a Stake that is lighter , and stronger with better guying possibilities , you may want to also check out the Snow Peak R 103 Solid Stakes . We have both and the Snow Peak is more user friendly going in an coming out .

Re: Tent / Awning Stakes

I fly an MSR Parawing at a lot of campsites and it takes, when there is wind, a lot of good staking. I found this 12" Al Ultimate Stake to be the most useful. I added "S" hooks so the aluminum edges on the stake does not cut the rope. http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___21105

I also carry stake "nails" for extremely hard ground and some jumbo plastic stakes for soft ground.

Re: Tent / Awning Stakes

I've always purchased large 10 - 12" nails (3/8" thick) from Home Depot for that purpose. Inexpensive and work great.
