Water coolers that don't suck

I have one of these
It sucks. I got it at Wally World or somewhere. It has a solid plastic top, not really insulated at all, and it will turn solid ice to warm water in about 6 hours.
I'm wondering if these old school Coleman water jugs pictured below are better?
I'm thinking, like everything else, they just don't make em like they used to. These older ones seem to be plentiful on Ebay and just as cheap as the cheaply made new ones.
Or does someone else have a recommendation? We like to keep lots of cold water on hand in a cooler and not fill our van fridge up with bottles, and of course the ice chest is reserved for these
I wish I had kept the one we had when I was a kid! I just can't remember how well it worked.

Currently vanless. Weird.

Re: Water coolers that don't suck

Get 1 gallon milk jug type containers and freeze them solid. Keep them in a regular ice chest and drink the water when the ice melts.
