How to send PM

I am a new member and tried to send a PM and it says I am not authorized to view other members profiles. What am I doing wrong?

Some features are restricted to new members with less than 3 posts. Viewing profiles is different than sending a private message which new members can do. Use the PM button next to the profile button located at the bottom of each persons post. I sent you a PM. The group rules are the first 3 posts by a new member be other than simple questions. Please PM me back for further information.
