Re: JDB IMPORTS
Guys,
This is the first time he has posted here, and the ONLY reason he posted was because he got a random vehicle that he is just putting out there that he has available for sale. I am not sure what the big concern is. I can see if this becomes an issue down the road, but he made clear that he was new, he was a dealer, and he only was posting because he had this SMB come through his possesion. In my opinion it is no different than the ads that people post here that are connected to auto trader, that are vehicles held by dealers. Hey, at least the guy is posting about a SMB, not a laptop, campfire, or someother random gear that has absolutely nothing to do with a SMB. I say let the guy post his ad, and if someone is interested in buying his SMB, they can. No harm no foul. Its tough to be a high pressure car salesman over a forum. JMO.

Re: JDB IMPORTS
Pals,
In my case, I welcome JDB's post. I am searching hard for a used SMB, and appreciate every listing I hear about. There aren't enough of these wonderful rigs for sale. Of course, I do understand that we do not want to have a lot of retail establishments pushing their products on this forum, but this is outside JDB's normal business, so it is unlikely to happen again.
I am fairly new to this forum, and much appreciate the discussions!
Happy trails,
Musichael

Re: JDB IMPORTS
I understand both sides of this discussion (too polite to be called an argument).
It is nice to have the available SMB's listed for sale. But, where do you draw the line?
How about dealer's with aftermarket 4wd or Quigley vans that are ready for an interior?
What about similar van conversions that aren't SMB's?
Do we want to allow any dealer to post as long as they don't do it very often?
Or is there a firm line that should be drawn?
I don't know the answers, just some of the questions.
Mike

Re: JDB IMPORTS
Maybe check out the way TheSamba.com is set up
The PAID FOR ads are well seperated from the forum
Personaly it would be nice to have some "trusted" vendors
that have reviews as to service and quality
I like surfing the web but proven vendors would give me more time to use my SMB !
