limited size on my gallery?

I'm sure there is a limit, or at least I would imagine there is. I have recently started posting a lot of higher res pics to my gallery, which are always SMB or at least family SMB trip related. Is there a max per member or a way to see the max and how close you are to it? I have not been able to upload pics lately and am wondering if I have hit the cap. I have no problem using another hosting service if this is the case, I would just like to understand it better.

Thanks

Re: limited size on my gallery?

Eric, the site automatically resizes the pictures to somewhere about 800x600 for storing in an album. I've found if I don't resize the pics prior to posting them to my album, it seems to take forever to upload. If I resize before, it takes only a second or two. Hope this helps.

Re: limited size on my gallery?

There should not be a limit to number of photos. The bad news, like daveb said they don't wind up hi-res because there is a limit on size.

What exactly happens when you upload an image? Error message?

Perhaps it's a Mac error message and not an SMB one, I can't tell. My browser screen goes totally white and I get very small print in the top corner saying something like "Fatal file transfer error. File size xxx???? failed permanently yada yada yada. Maximum file transfer size xxx???? yada yada yada. I will screen shot it if I see it again. I think I've figured out the problem though. I've always had decent luck letting the forum software resize pics for me, I have never resized any of mine. There I was trying to upload were huge. I think I just overclocked the system's capabilities. It's no problem, I will resize and try again.

Thanks

Re: limited size on my gallery?

Why are you blaming it on me. Actually there must be a limit on the number of pictures one can upload because I get a message saying I have reached my limit. I cannot upload any more pictures.
