I wish i had the time to hand build a rig, you are a Lucky man

Sitting/Camping in your own hand build rig will add a real special feeling

Re: 2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

After having the penthouse top on it for a few months I happened across a pop top for a Eurovan. After a days work these were the results. I am much happier with the fit and ease of raising the top now. Some people prefreer the top to raise straight up. I found with my floor plan it works just as well.

The top is very clean and the canvas is tight and even. As long as you don't have to walk to the read of a van it's perfect. My van has a gaucho similar to yours. Not nearly as beautifully finished. I think a van with a dinette in the rear might even work with that top.

If you look at his floor plan you can't walk far enough back to where he can't stand up or you'll run into the rear seat. For a walk through van I suppose it could be a problem.

Re: 2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

Nicely done my friend, You have a great eye for detail, I was wondering what you did with that 1979 van you had? and do you still have the other pop top you made? if so My van is a 1981 I love it but i need a penthouse. I have look all over the net nothing yet. Living in Jackson Hole its !00 miles to anything so im limited on junk yards.

Thanks
Ron
