Re: 2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

Sorry haven't been around so much. Sleeping in the top bunk was mostly for my daughter. I did sleep there a few times and it was great once you did your yoga to get up there and in place. Temps are very different without a vent. But all in all well worth it to have a hard top. Thanks

Yeas, island is not in EU or the U.S. but we use many of the EU regulations, I know that some have experienced problems at the autobans in Germany and elsewhere because of some of the tires are not dot stamped.

I really like this topped because it reminds me of a Westfalia. Ah I miss my VW camper.

By the way, what kind of rims are those? Make/model please?

Re: 2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

Sorry to come in so late on this, but can anyone provide info about the fridge in that way-cool Ford van? Am I correct that the temp. control knob is on the outside at the top of the unit? Any info regarding make, model, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

I love everything you built-you are a true craftsmen ! I also have a 79' Ford E250 Quadravan 4x4 that I'm working on. I'd like to put a poptop on my van also so I was hoping I could ask you just a couple questions. I live in Reading, Pa., but was wondering how you found the pop up tops for your van ? Also did you just use the canvas that came with the top ? Why did you like the bubble top more ? Did the bubble top affect your gas mileage (and did that contribute to you going to a sprinter?)?
Any help or idea's you can give will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

2000 4x4 Ford Van Build

Hi;

I did a pop top swap from an 82 SMB to an 84 4x4.

viewtopic.php?uid=6524&f=24&t=8775&start=0

Lots of photos and useless advice.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Gavin
