You're an inspiration, keep it up! The travel through mainland Mexico on your blog is fascinating. It's something I really would love to do but the news keeps me (likely unfairly) hesitant.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for the delayed response, We're not getting any notifications so we need to check our profile settings.

Getting past the initial apprehension was the hardest part. For us, once the fear of not taking the trip overtook the fear of the trip itself we knew we had to go. That's the best decision we have ever made. We encourage you to take any long trip, be it Mexico or any other country. Long term travel is not easy but the rewards easily outweigh the worst of days. There are a lot of overlanders, especially in Mexico, so caravanning is almost always possible. It's what we did when we entered Baja. While we now have experience to draw from we know what it's like to weigh what's being said in the media and by the US Department of State. Apprehension is healthy, we all had and still have it at times. Please feel free to reach out anytime!

Right on! Thanks for the reporting and for getting out there and doing it! You've certainly challenged my preconceptions and I'm thankful for it.
