Where did you get that cargo netting shown in the last photo, fire extinguisher and vent visible.

Thanks
Thanks for the compliments. We like it too!

The cargo net was custom made by Strapworks.com from Eugene, OR to my design.

The cost of this conversion was about $28,000 plus the cost of the chassis. We could have saved $6 - $10,000 by doing all the work ourselves.

Now your van is finished, is the van noticeably quieter with all the sound deadening material you added? Was it worth adding it all to the engine cover?

It's hard to compare before/after, because it was a bare cargo van before, and now has a high top and full interior. But in my opinion it helped quite a bit. The van "feels" solid and has a reasonable noise level. A couple weeks ago, I took my 2 daughers skiing about 100 miles away. We had pleasant conversations between the cab and back seat. In our 1988 E150 with a similar build w/o sound deadening, we would have been shouting.

I can still hear the engine/transmission when accelerating. It's hard to say if the engine cover sound barrier helps since I also fixed the gap at the floor gasket at the same time, which did make a huge difference.

The most noticeable noise now is from the fiberglass top and/or roof vents. We have 2 roof vents about 24" apart, and I suspect they are the main culprit.

Organizing the interior

We didn't get to use our van much since we got it last Fall, but now I'm putting some final touches on for summer camping.

We usually camp in the forest, and like to have a shovel, axe, and bucket for fire maintenance as well as firefighting if it comes to that (small fires). We already had a small shovel, and I found a really nice Gerber axe complete with mounting bracket at Warehouse Sports. The bucket is part of an old Coleman 5 gallon water jug. I found some ATV tool mounting brackets at Warehouse Sports to hang the shovel. I still need to move the curtain hold-back strap to the passenger side, since the curtain won't fit on the driver side with the shovel in the way.

Our extra water jugs are in a Kelty Binto carrier. The other Binto carrier has two Binto's in it - one for plumbing gear and one for electrical gear.

We use the van for skiing, and drying out our ski clothes is always a challenge. Van Specialties installed 2 L-track mounts on the ceiling, and I built a simple detachable clothes rod which puts the wet clothes over the furnace vent. Probably won't want to drive with the clothes hanging, but should be great for evenings and nights.

Love the van bud! I was wondering if I could see it in person since I live in Yakima.

Thanks

Re: 2009 Ford E250 RB High Top Build

Sure! We like showing it off. Our neighbors looked at it and they ended up having Van Specialities do a full-on RV conversion to an extended high top Sprinter.
