Meanwhile, back at the ranch.
The interior is black. Its been sprayed with rhino liner or linex or whatever and it just sucks the light out of everything. So I'm thinking of getting a sprayer and slapping on a coat of some light colored miss tint just so I can see in here.

Fiberine says they want the van in an empty state so they can mount the top easier. I want to get as much prepping done as possible. Grrr.

Looks great! You will love the Duramax. I did the same lift and 33’s ...you don’t need to regear if you don’t want to spend the $.

Here’s my Duramax. Work in progress. Sliders are welded to the frame.

Sorry the pic is sideways...

Exact same wheels and tire size I have. After about 70k miles on it with the bigger tires and a tune I decided to regear last week to 4.11s. I never drove the van with the tune and stock tire size so I don’t have that reference point, but the feeling of more torque is noticeable almost everywhere but really so around town. It was fairly expensive for this kinda gain but I plan on doing quite a bit more towing the next couple years so I went with it. If not I would say not necessary.

Thats a good looking van you got right there. How do you like your awning? I worked for Thule for most of the 90's and had one that would mount to my crossbars but it was kind of kloogy. I was thinking of going with a couple pop up canopy things.

Whith, what did you go with for a tuner? My mechanic recommended Edge Products.

I ordered the Chevy rear fender flares and front fenders from Weldtec a couple weeks ago right when they were announced. Am headed out to Socal to get the Fiberine top mounted, pick up a Water tank from Agile, and hopefully grab the fenders and flares at the end of April. Alyssa, the office manager there, thinks they should be ready but with Covid??? Who knows.

Fingers crossed.

I have an EFI live custom tune that was done by ATP who is no longer in business unfortunately. I would strongly recommend staying away from an Edge canned or general tune. They are going to be for the trucks and there are enough differences between the truck and van particularly with the transmission that you’re likely going to hurt something. Kennedy Diesel comes highly recommended from the Duramax van guys at Diesel Site forum and he’s been responsive to me when I reached out. He’s done a lot of vans. I’ll be going that direction soon likely for a Speedo correction.

The Dometic awning is working great so far. I installed 3/4” plywood to the side wall of my fiberglass top - then bolted through the side for the aluminum mounting bracket. Solid with no flex at all. I was skeptical because it has no legs on the end (self supporting)...but it’s done well.

Thanks for the compliment....work in progress - of course.

Fiberine hi top installed a few weeks ago.

Mind sharing the model# of the Dometic Awning? I'm looking for an electric awning too because my van is too high for manual operation!

Here's my 2013 Duramax, work in progress. Looking to get a dual swing out for the back and a DIY 8020 aluminum roof rack.
