I wanted to copy and paste my comment from expo over here about the Ecoboost. I can't wait to see what you do with this thing.

"I got behind one today on a stoplighted section of 55mph highway in my Outback 3.6R (which is no slouch!) and that Ecoboost Transit is a rocketship! Dude driving the Transit was stomping it off the line. I wouldn't say my 3.6R had trouble keeping up but I was very surprised at how much throttle I had to apply. "

That van is seriously fast.

Major upgrade for the Transit this weekend. The stock seats are just not comfortable for me and the wife so we opted to put Scheel-Mann seats in the front. I've been working with the US distributor so much recently that I became a dealer for the seats and I've also designed and fabricated adapter brackets for several different vehicles. I'll be working on the brackets to fit Sprinters soon but I had to get our Transit ready for a long drive this week...

The only downside to this is losing the seat airbag but I did make a couple devices to keep the computers happy and air bag light stays off.

In related news...I have some 2017 Transit front seats for sale. Black cloth, driver side is a power seat, only 12k miles and excellent condition.

Wow...long time no update!

Well...I finally got around to fitting up more of the interior parts and it's starting to look like something. I've had the van partially together since Dec '17 and we used it on a long road trip through the SW over Xmas holiday. Worked great for us, kids loved the upper platform and the fold out bench made for a pretty good sized bed below. This is all raw of course. We plan to add some color and upholstery soon.

Some of the details you don't see (or are not installed yet)
-180W solar with 1 4D lifeline battery. All the electronics are housed at the rear end of the cabinet.
-Cruise 130 Fridge
-Airtronic B4 heater
-I have a sink/stove combo to put in the countertop but haven't cut the hole yet. fed by 10gallon fresh/10gallon grey tank system
-Maxxair Fan

The layout works good for our family outings. plenty of space for gear, lots of room in the fridge for food and drinks.

We'll have this van up at the NW Overland rally this weekend if you want to stop by.
