forgot I started a build thread so I will now only post here… I ended up posting it up in the old classified section that started this whole thing…

Any how the van (aka Van69) has left the building… meaning Mikracer's place. Big thank you to Jin for helping us out. I'd say getting a shipper was interesting to say the least. Here's a pretty good video by Mikracer when they loaded it up. Which happened tonight but was supposed to happen tomorrow morning. But we are stoked it's on it's way…

glad you saved the old girl from the scrap heap! will be cool to watch what you do with it now.

watching that video it looks like you almost needed a new front bumper there...

Ohhhhh... I have a soft spot for those too. My parents had a '70 that I learned to drive on. Drove it all over the country, and was rock solid dependable. I think they put 250k on it before selling it which was unheard of for vehicles back then. Other than rebuilding the transmission every 100k (almost like clockwork) I don't recall any other significant repairs.

Nice choice and good luck with the restomod!

Sorta made me cringe when it dropped off the flat bed… Just think what they may have done if someone wasn't filming Hopefully it makes it in one piece...

It's hard to tell from the video, but the reason why it was loaded onto the transport rig that way is because the van doesn't run and the transport didn't have a winch. So the flatbed extended his winch line all the way, then used a snatch to run it back to the van.

Once the van was loaded onto the trailer, the driver lifted the upper deck with the hydraulics and extended as high as it could go. Then they used gravity to roll it all the way to the #1 position on the upper deck of the transport trailer. Pretty crazy to watch and it took over an hour to do all of this.

Happy to be a small part of saving a classic. Looking forward to the build thread and the final product!

Talking about saving classics... I just couldn't help myself and bought another one last week! Haven't told my wife yet, she'll figure once I bring it home, haha!

Not looking to hijack MSD's thread any longer, just glad to see some interest in these old girls Anyway, here's my newest addition.

Now back to MSD's show! Really looking forward to see your progress!

That is a sweet van I love the hard side windows and how they fold in and up

We finally took delivery of the old girl today. She sitting at Opt Overland where will be doing most the work. We talked with Doug (one of the owners of opt) last night about doing a fuel injection kit for the 302 since we are at altitude.

Found a donor quad van about 1 mile away which will be used for the 4x4 conversion. I'll have to get a few pictures up when I can get them down loaded from my phone.

Abitibi I need to still get signed up on the FB and vintage econoline forums.
