69 Ford E300 - aka 69van

Jumping the gun on a build thread a little but wanna get people thinking about this if they are interested. I figure more heads the better...

So Cathy and I bought the 69 van that was listed by Mikracer in the member classifieds CL that he had found and posted it up since the seller was basically going to send it to the the wrecking yard if not bought by a specific date.

We are pretty excited to do this restore / conversion. We will be doing this in conjunction with Opt Overland here in Fort Collins and making the conversion from 2wd to 4wd. Our motivation for this van was yet another van that was listed on Ebay by another forum member that was a 71 4x4 SMB.

This is what we will start with...

This is the goal… minus the light bar of course we'll do something more in lines with the vintage.

Thank you for taking the risk and saving this from the wrecking yard. I saw far too many classic rides go to the scrapper during the Cash for Clunkers purge.

That thing is cool! Post up some interior shots when you can. Congrats on nabbing it.

There wasn't much left of the interior, just some of the wood paneling and the front two seats/dash.

What scummy said and a big thank you to him for going and checking it out. Also a big thank you to Mikracer for all his help. It's really nice when the forum community comes together to make things work. Now to get it towed to Mikracer place and then get it trucked up to us here in Colorado.

Here are a few shots from the ad on CL - I might add Scummy didn't want to pop the top for fear of bats coming out but Sage the owner said it's all there, but we plan on redoing it all so it will be a fun project.

I've seen worse looking interiors posted on this forum for modern generation vans, where they're asking $40K+.

Nice!!! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the old vans, I looked at one in Pick-N-Pull about a month ago <3
