Maybe its just the angle, but the before and after pic looks like it lifted it more than just 1".

I was measuring from the seam line one side was 14" before springs now one side 14 1/4 and the other 15 1/4. It does look lifted though and the camber is way off. Im going to drive it around a little and let things settle and then bring it to the alignment shop.

Not much to look at but it gets the job done. Sorry its a little dirty, working on the outside mostly right now. It makes more sense to me that they should have put the toilet on the side and made a stand up shower in the middle. I might try that configuration out one of these days.

Installed some new grey carpet





Covering the green with grey outdoor fabric



and it's back! I was able to buy back the disc brake dana 60 from a guy that I sold it to on craigslist. I just text him and asked if he had used it. He had not and was ready to let it go. So it's Back. Plans are to install a selectable locker with 4.10 gear and maybe change it to 35 spline axles.

Can you elaborate a bit more on how you covered (or replaced) the green fabric on the pillars? Did you remove the green and then glue on the grey? Or if you just covered it, how did you secure the grey and what fabric did you use?

I'm also interested in hearing more about how you're doing the color upgrade. I have that same blue/green carpet stuff in my 1994 GMC SMB. If I don't end up selling it (another thread) then updating the color of the interior is going on top of the priority list.

I'm covering over the green. Leaving it in place for the padding. The material I am using is from Walmart and is outdoor fabric $5 per yard. Probably spent about $35 most of it

I used staples on the back of parts that do not have concave curves and this adhesive on the parts that are concave



Im pretty happy with the way it is coming out but some of the tight curves are a little wrinkled because of the thickness of the combined new cloth and green cloth underneath. Maybe I'll try a heat gun to see if I can get it to tighten up.





Not perfect but hey, it's $35 and not green anymore

I have a few areas (powder blue in my case , which makes the SMB teal look positively au-courant) that could benefit from the way you did it, so I'll try that. In other places I think I'll have to strip the current fabric off and start fresh; but your way will be most useful in the flatter areas. Thanks!

One question: How did you decide what length staples to use? Or what length did you use?
