Re: 97 E150 Conversion Mark III -- 4x4 camper van

Thanks 86Scotty, It's a 351w a bit more peppy than my 4.6 in my 97. 460 would have been nice but it would definitely suck the gas. Funny thing is my Wife and Son hated the 4x4 van when I first started building it and now that I bought the other van they are in love with it and hate the one I just bought. I haven't had a chance to pull the cover yet but it definitely looks like a dana 60 under there. Im on the fence about which one to go with.

Actually with that size van and a 351 I bet you'll get about the same 10 MPG. Good luck as decent gas mileage is elusive. Everyone else always does better than you do........

Sorry for the delay on the interior pictures, I've been pretty busy installing software and replacing servers at work, Here you go. Heck with it, Im keeping them both. Two older models are still cheaper than a new one. Does anyone know if the newer dash, door panels 97+ or 08+ etc with fit the older 92+ vans? Id like to modernize them both. What do you think?

Yes, they will fit and it makes a huge difference, but good luck finding a complete set.

Thanks 86Scotty, thats good to know, hopefully as the newer vans get older some will filter down into the salvage yard and make them a little easier to find.

I know, i hope this doesn't turn into some kind of hoarder addiction with vans. I'm cutting myself off at two.
4x4 is definitely on the table especially after seeing that post from BajaSportsmobile.

BajaSportsmobile, I like your 4wd systems and how they don't have to be sky high to work. You wouldn't happen to sell DIY components would you? The reason I ask is you are on the other side of the USA from me and I cant see myself shipping or driving the class b to you. Plus I don't mind saving a buck or two putting in the labor myself and sourcing what parts I can local. Does that class b have 33's or 35's ?

We chosen not to offer a DIY option on the TTB conversion.

It has ~33 inch KO2 on it. I'm not a fan of "sky high" either. They look cool but... having to live with one would get tiring for me. Just the tires alone raise the entry level several inches.

I thought you might like to see the "same van" with 4x4 and Aluminess though - it gets a lot of positive comments.
