axle, the ABS is wired in but the light is still on. Are they compatible.
Thanks

Re: ABS problem
Did you adapt the 2008 sensors to the 2004 axle? And the 2008 style tone rings? Or try to get the 2004 parts to work with the 2008 van?

Re: ABS problem
QuadVan transfers the van's OE ABS sensors to the new '05+ axle. The connector is not the same though, so it has to be spliced. The F-series sensors do not put out the right signal apparently. I think they leave the rest of the stuff (like tone ring) alone.

Re: ABS problem
Thanks Mike and Carringb
We did not use the original sensors, we used the ones form the new front end. looks like we will have to install the original sensors. I have been driving the van and it is awesome in the snow, still need a few tweeks like pulling out one leaf in the front and moving the wheels forward a little ect oh and the ABS. I love ABS and miss it.

Re: ABS problem
I have a 2008 with a Dynatrac axles, and ever since I installed Toyo Open Country M/Ts the ABS light comes on about every 20 miles or so. As soon as I turn off the engine and then turn it back on, the light goes out.
Who knows.... ?

I'd be calling SMB (assuming it is an SMB 4x4).

Re: ABS problem
That's a good idea, thanks. It never did it with the B.F.G.s . I'm wondering if it's the weight difference-(considerable), or the squirminess- (also considerably more). Anyway, I'll call SMB and see if they have a clue. It's been doing it for about 6,000 miles, and the ABS works as advertised even when the light's on so it's a mystery.

Re: ABS problem
Could it be the front tires compress more under heavy braking? The ABS may think the rears are sliding because of the compressed fronts (smaller, rotate faster) make the rears seem to turn slower?
Try more air in the fronts and repeat the hard stop.

Mine pretty much does the same.
The SMBW line (from Peter) is take it to Ford.
