Accrete, did you add the "rear handling kit" from BOR, or just the 2" lift?
Accrete and Koontec, I was wondering if you knew how large a tire would fit with the 2-3" lifts - I saw Koontec is running 265R70-17s?
I was also looking around and haven't been able to find info on what differentials these vans have. Sounds like the rear is a limited slip (G80)? Is the front open? (hopefully this isn't a stupid questions).
Awesome vans! I'm looking forward to researching and (hopefully) starting my own build.

Yes I'm running 265/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs. With this lift i don't think its possible to go with a bigger tire. We brought out one size larger tire while i was at the shop to see if it would clear the fender and it didn't.

I'm not sure what type of differentials these vans have. maybe somebody else can answer that question for you. Good luck on your research.

Re: Accrete's AWD Chevy Van project

Greetings,
What i've found is that the passenger Express AWD had the 3.73 rear and the cargo Express AWD had the 3.42.
You can order it also with locking rear dif (which we did on our cargo).

We run stock tire and wheel size (LT245 70r/17 Ten Ply Toyo Open Country MtnSnowflake) on ours as we had nice wheels before the lift...so everything koontek said on tire size...and we are planning to go up in size also once we have worn these out. We purposely have been running "Pizza Cutters" (Tall/Narrow) tires on all our rigs for slicing through standing water.

Re: Accrete's AWD Chevy Van project

: ) our first official outing of the 2015 season....

We spent a week by one of our favorite rivers in the PNW and slept under the stars in our two hammocks.

Tarp was up during the day-breeze to keep the pine needles/cones away, though calm nights allowed us to fold it back for star gazing from under the bug nets. Her's on the right is a Hennessy Expedition Asym-zip, mine is a Warbonnet Black Bird

Re: Accrete's AWD Chevy Van project

Second outing of the 2015 season ... we spent ~week at "Lower Falls Campground" east of Cougar WA.

Fun with the iPad from the fire ring with a program called "360"

We spent 4 of 5 nights in the hammocks again. The kelty noah 16 tarp was basically to catch the falling pine needles though it did sprinkle a bit early one morning.

and our view from under the noah:

and the falls the camp is named after. One note on water level, last year's trip about the same time there was about four feet of water on top of the bedrock seen above the falls...water levels in the downstream reservoirs were so low that many of the boat ramps were closed.

: ) Happy Trails,
Thom

Took your lead and just had my local tire center swap out our 245's for 265's... they look and fit great!

THX Scotty... it sure is a fun app (I think it is free in the iOS store for iPhone/iPad)

An after note on the larger tire size...my vertically challenged wife who already _nearly_ needed a step stool to get into her DD of a van needed a push up into the rear cargo area slider door while we were readying the rig for the next adventure today. Guess that extra inch pushed it up to the next level ? funny.
