Adding middle row seating?
Has anyone added middle row captains chairs, specifically in a Chevy Express van?
I'm looking to reconfigure the interior of my van to more of a passenger van/family truckster. It is currently in a RB50 layout and I did that before marriage and children. We now have a 3 yr. old and 1 on the way. The sofabed positioned so far back in the van has proven to be a major problem when you have kids strapped in that need help with...pretty much everything. My wife can't sit in the back (motion sickness) and won't walk back when we are underway. I either need to figure out how to add seats closer where the front passenger easily help a young passenger in the rear, or I may be swapping the van for a quad cab truck.
I think I have the good fortune of having mounted the sofabed far enough back that it could still be laid down with a middle row of seats. I was considering 2 Sienna seats; they seem to be popular with Econoline owners. The Sienna seats have the LATCH system for car seats, and intergrated belts, so getting them secured to the floor is the only thing I need to worry about.
I would be interested in hearing your experiences with adding middle seats.
Thanks!
