I picked up a Pass. side Aluminess ladder and plan to mount it to my '03 EB. I have seen many pictures of them from the side but wondered, does anyone have a picture from the back looking forward down the side of the van? I know that the EB's have more curve behind the rear wheel. I am planning to mount it just behind the tail pipe to clear it. Just wanted to see how it looks from the back as it seems to "stick out" further in the back.
Here are some pics of the ladder mounted on our EB. It does stick out just a bit more at the back because of the curvature of the body but there really is no choice. If you are considering adding an awning at some point you will need to be further back from the exhaust pipe. Also, if you are travelling on snowy roads the ice (or mud, too) build up around the exhaust pipe will cling onto the ladder more if too close. Hope these help, let me know if you want an other pics or measurements.
Use the body line at the third rung up as your alignment reference. If your ladder rung is not aligned with that rung it might bug you if you are detail oriented ......... My finger is pointing to the clip on the gutter location.

Thanks Ray! Yeah it is back a bit from my exhaust and to clear my ARB awning. Are the top brackets that attach to the ladder and rain gutter designed to rest on the body of the van?

Not supposed to be against the paint once everything is tightened up. If they are close, which they will be, consider some neoprene adhesive backed foam strips to protect the paint. Also, I added some hard plastic strips under the screws that bite down into the gutter putty.
