Another adVANture 2006 6.0 Ujoint Build

After four years with a 4x4 RV I'm ready to build a new project. Today I purchased a 2006 E350 6.0PSD extended van. The van is going to be delivered to Chris at UJoint for a conversion that should be completed by the middle of June. I'm going with the Sterling full float rear axle, 6" lift, Dana 60 up front, 35" tires, Aluminus front and back, the actual list is huge. I'm very excited!

My Quigley RV will be for sale next year. Should be in the $40,000 range I'm thinking. It's well equipped with a 2009 Quigley conversion, 30,000 miles on the conversion parts, Deavers, Aluminus, tons of storage. It's a cool rig with a huge bathroom!

Re: New UJoint Project

Your RV was one of the first 4x4 standard C's I have seen. I am suprised more people don't put Ujoint 4x4's on the 21 footers. Super functional rig. Good luck with your new build.

Re: New UJoint Project

My new van is still at Ujoint. Chris just ripped it down to the frame for the conversion. It's not a big deal but anyone have a guess how tall my van will be, just wondering if it will fit in the garage.

6" lift, 35" tires no pop top, Aluminess roof rack.

The garage door is 8'.

BTW I'll post a ton of photos once I get home from work at the end of July.

Re: New UJoint Project

It's not going to make it in your garage with a 9 foot door. Even without the penthouse with a 6" lift and 35" tires you're looking at nearly 100" to the top of the Aluminess rack. That's just a guess but have you looked into raising the header

Re: New UJoint Project

Ok, so nearly 100", 8' door is 96".

If I air the tires down would I fit I wonder.

Once inside I have more clearance.

It still sounds maybe possible.

Re: New UJoint Project

My guess is 94-95". But that still may not clear an 8' door. Most garage doors seem to not completely clear the opening.

I hope yours fits.

Re: New UJoint Project

UJOR 6" lift - 35" tires with no rack I need 9 feet to be comfortable. There's a 9' drive through Carls Jr. I drive through easily.
