Bigduke6's too many functions build

Slowly trying to get the interior useful for work, family camping, and windsurfing-unfortunately in that order. Must carry at least 1 board and sails at all times, sleep 3 humans and 1 dog, all of whom like to sprawl and steal blankets, and allow me to make extra money on per diem if I can use it to travel for work. So far tried about 3 different layouts. Settling for now on small cabinet behind driver seat, followed by fold out full width couch, with an additional 4' of mattress behind that. When all folded out, bed is width of van and about 8' long. Sailing gear goes under the drivers side of the bed, with work or camp related gear under the passenger side. We can all sleep crossways if we are conscious of being space hogs. With just 3 of us, we have TONS of room. Working on getting the walls, storage, and shades done right now. Hit and miss on time to work on it, and plans subject to change if it doesn't work as planned. I really would like to have the couch oriented like a gaucho behind the drivers seat, but this seems to work for the storage and sleeping for now. Only a few pics to post of the shades for the windows, they do provide absolute privacy and are light-tight.

Interesting. Looks like the side window shade is a piece of press-board or something that slides to the rear to open and forward to close, but what is on the barn-door? Is that easily removable?

I like the slide out side window board. Have you considered a top? PH, Voyager or Cruiser, any would give you more sleeping or storage room.
and then
everything changed

covers for pop out windows are black Formica to the outside. They fit tight so the edge of the window trim holds them to the glass. Marine vinyl glued to the inside is a little larger and held in place by the window seal. Seems to hold well
even with the window open due to tension on the Formica between the window latch and the top hinges. They pop in and out easily. The sliding side covers
are the same construction. Will add a layer of reflectix to the inside if in extreme hot
or cold weather.

definitely want a raised roof. Leaning toward voyager type. Would free up room by putting sail gear overhead.
