Cabinet and drawer latches/knobs

What do you home builders like for locking knobs on drawers and doors?
The concealed push button type seem to be popular and there are a few different designs of them. They seem fairly brittle according to reviews.
I did install a few of the southco type slam latches and like them for where they are but not sure i want them on the kitchen cabinet just because of the dated look. Although they seem to be very secure so they are not out of the question.
I need something that is guaranteed to stay shut while bouncing down the road and robust enough to stand up to my wife and kid. Ie: if it can break, they will break it.

Hey Chris,

Not many high quality options out there... I ended up with these and have extras on board for hot backups. All my doors and drawers are half inch.

Push button latch for upper cabinet doors.

Slam latch for drawer and lower cabinets.

I had to add a slider lock for my Dometic fridge after it decided to open on a hard left hander after shearing the top of the slam latch...

Thanks Lyall.
Those slam latches are the exact ones I have already installed.
Do you like those push button knobs? Holding up okay so far?

I would like to see the slider lock you got for the fridge as I also have to rig up a lock on mine.

How are you liking the van now that you have some time using it?

The push button knobs are working as designed and meet my needs.

I was going to add a pair of heavy magnet latches to the fridge drawer but fully loaded it's heavy AF. Decided I needed a mechanical lock out but couldn't find a sliding bolt that would fit.. So I cut one of the magnet latch backing plates and installed it on the right side of the slider assembly. I can access that from the below sink cabinet. Simple and effective.

Digging the van BIG time after all the work building it out. Only managed a couple camping trips this season but it's everything we hoped for. Picking fabric and sewing cushion covers will finish the interior.

Crazy how much $$ I have into this build in parts alone and now I'm getting ready to order the full meal deal from Aluminess. Prices are crazy but I'll happily pay for lightness.

Van is looking good man! Yeah I'm building my kitchenette right now and planning on using those bush button latches for the hinged doors

Looks great! Thanks a lot.
I decided to just go with the slam latches for the rest of the cabinet drawers and doors. I like the simple lock on the fridge!
I too am on the hunt for cushion fabric and an upholstery shop to sew the covers.
My build is a bit simpler and lower budget but it is crazy how quick all the little stuff adds up!
We didn’t camp at all this summer with the van in disarray.
Hoping to be done for some fall camping and winter ski lot camping!
