Camping cots in a van

About 3-4 years ago a guy at Overland Expo West had two helicopter seats as his bed in a cargo van. Seats were pretty cool, easy to hitch to the walls or drop down to form a single bed. I looked for similar seats and only found one on Ebay...you kind of need two seats for a regular person's length.

I have two of the Coleman Deluxe's.

For my 185# carcass, its quite comfy.
I've been playing with interior layout design in our RB and keep everything modular.

Also check out disc-O-beds. I did these cots for a couple years. They are bunk beds! There is a low height and they are comfy. I don’t have a pic but I’ll dig one up if I can. Pretty much tops out the list of every damn bed option I’ve dreamed up and tried before my new van. So fun to try it all out before it works. Bunk beds!

The Roll-A-Cots from Camp Time are the most comfortable I've ever used. We've never used them inside the van since we already have comfy beds there, but we do often carry them in the van in order to sleep out under the stars. There are several different sizes available, but they all share the same basic design. Because there is no cross bar at the head or foot ends it makes for a very comfortable bed. The top choice of river rafters everywhere!

I've had one of their Roll-A-Tables for years. I love it. Rolled up it fits perfectly in the sill of the slider on my Astro. Thanks for the tip Bardo, I didn't know they did cots. Definitely on the list.

Without middle legs, end bars, plus mesh fabric (for cooler sleep), compact and lightweight.. roll-a-cot looks awesome. A bit more assembly time than other options, but I am sure one can get good with practice.

Have used these in single & bunk configuration, and they work well. A really nice addition is the "organizer" that velcro's to the cot - it's great for storing water bottles, keys, flashlights, vitamins, etc. - anything small. They're well built, and heavier than others at 50+lbs each. When I bought years ago, they were the only cot i could find made in america (this makes a difference for me). Haven't checked, but it looks like they are now made elsewhere??? Highly recommend the foot pads if buying the disc-o-beds - Disc-O-Bed Foot Pads | Disc-O-Bed

At 11", the lower bunk should clear the wheelwell???

+1. A sinks is really low also. They don’t have an end bar either.
