Btw - Awesome install and recap! The amount of space when the top is down in the mid top is nice for sleeping bags and pillows. The space in the high top is incredible! Spent some time in one in August when getting a high top installed for a friend and was blown away. Pretty sure it was your top I saw on the pallet getting ready for shipping. Very cool to see the pics of the actual diy install!

Personally, I would (and did) remove the cross bar and allow for a more open space. We have a walk through layout, so it needed to be out.

Thanks! Yeh it sent out from CCV around end of august. Probably was it! I thought about removing the middle cross bar, but my layout is more like a modified EB50 layout with a bench/bed. So Figured I would keep it, plus I am going to install the headliner back in using the rear section and perimeter with the middle cut out.

I really like this top. It seems to provide the best aspects of the fixed high top with the best aspects of the PH. Someday, when I grow up, I might want to have one of those.

Recently had 6" of snow sitting on top for a week or more... not a single drop inside. Figures, cause with the design there isn't many holes (6 x 3/8" bolts) through the top, just the ones I added for the fan and AC, rack. But I sealed them off pretty religiously with Butyl Sealant/Tape. Works great. And all the sides sit in the original rain gutter with a large seal. So it's as tight as a submarine.

Good to know, thanks for the detailed response! This will very likely be the top i purchase. Do you think the folks at CCV do as good a job, or would you recommend doing it yourself?

I would highly recommend getting it installed at CCV, they are great to work with and do an amazing job on there installs. If..you can wait and get in on there schedule.... I installed mine because of time restraint. Either way, they are great tops. And with shipping cost(pretty high), depending where you are, its worth it for them to install. But if you have experience in custom fabrication, electrical etc..then by all means just follow the instruction on this install, but I'll quote CCV and this is what they told me about DIY "It's not for the faint of heart" I would have to agree, but I liked the challenge.
