Denver, CO Resources?

As I've started my search for a used Sportsmobile purchase, I've come to the realization that I will probably have to do some modifications to get exactly what I want. Does anyone know of a decent company in the Denver area that will perform interior modifications such as adding a hot water heater, exterior shower, micro, etc?

Also, would someone be willing to show me their rig sometime in the next several weeks? I just want to make sure I understand all the systems as well as educate myself further so I can ask the right questions.

Thanks in advance for your help!
-Jeff

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

There has to be something in Denver. I'm up in Boulder and there's a small RV shop here that will do just about anything. An RV repair shop in Denver should be tooled to work on your van. Sorry, I can't recommend something specific.

You might check with Spurious on this board. Perhaps he is for hire, he did a complete custom buildout in his van. He is in the Denver area I believe.

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

Thanks for the responses so far.
Zaskoda - A place in Boulder would be fine as long as it was respectable and reasonable. Have you heard good things about it? If so, what's the company?
Saline - Thanks for mentioning Spurious
Spurious - Vanture looks like they do some nice work. I always thought that Sportsmobiles interior was a bit sterile looking, not cozy....although looking at their new wood interiors, they may be changing. BTW...Your mods look great. As far as for me, it depends on the rig I end up buying. One of the ones I'm looking at has a propane system but not the water heater or the ext. shower. I've toyed with other options such as a micro, awning, ladder, etc on this particular one. If I pick up something else, then I'd want a stove with flat top (no rattling), decent size water tank, etc. Any idea on how expensive Vanture is?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

I have had Vanture do work on my used Sportsmobile and have been happy with both quality and price. And Boulder Off Road has done some exterior modifications (adding underfloor storage and rear tire carrier); also good quality, but not cheap. But I've always been willing to pay for good work, and it saves me many weekends and skinned knuckles. Happy to give you more specific feedback on both companies if useful.
James.

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

Thanks James,
I actually talked to John at Vanture yesterday about doing some modifications once I pick up a Sportsmobile. He seemed quite knowledgable and very friendly, so there's a good chance I'll use them. Thanks again for the lead.

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

I was trying to remember if one of my coworkers had his van done at Vanture. I was pretty sure that’s what he said (He showed me it just over a year ago). Just looked at the Vanture website, after seeing the tall square roofs, the interiors, and his floor plan was exactly like the sketch / drawing on the van conversions page I’m certain they did the conversion. He had his 1996 Dodge van done in 1996. He’s really tall and needed a high van. Don’t know how much it cost but it looked good and has very good usage of space. He’s still very happy with it after all these years.

Re: Denver, CO Resources?

Antero Automotive and Diesel is a shop in Lakewood and I'm definitely taking my van there for non-warranty items. They also recommended Phil Long Ford for having great Diesel techs, however they didn't specify which location. I'll try to find out on Monday because I need to get the oil leak in the van taken care of.
