E150,E250 and E350 suspension swap

I recently purchase a 92 E150, I want it to be a little higher and was thinking the height of the E250 or E350 would work fine. Would I be able to swap all the suspension components from an E250 or E350 with just bolting them on? I was even wondering if it can be converted from 5 lug to 8 lug?

Re: E150,E250 and E350 suspension swap

If you just want a bit of height, the springs from the same years are interchangeable for the 3 models. I had a similar problem and instead had my local spring shop add a leaf and re-contour the whole spring pack. Didn't cost much, though I don't remember exactly what it was. HD front springs are available fairly cheaply as well, they can give you an extra couple of inches.

As for the lug change, thats a hub issue so unless you plan on swopping out the rear axle and the both front hubs the only other option I know of is to get adapters. I have seen them online for converting 5 lug to 8 lug.

I agree with witoke on going to a spring shop to get a couple inches of lift. If you swapped in 250/350 springs you would get a much stiffer ride.

I suspect you could swap the 250/350 front suspension beams and hub assemblies. The rears could be done with either adapters or an axle swap. I wouldn't suggest adapters on the front, 'cause the front track width is already wide and adapters add a couple inches to each side.

Don’t forget you will have to change the brakes too if you do all that. It may be safer and simpler to look into a real lift kit made for your van. These guys make a good one and there are many others out there.
